State of Maine Resources
A Deep-Dive Resource Guide for Invisible Illness, Rare Disorders, Mental Health, Recovery, Grief, Disability, and Family Support.
This guide is designed as a living starting point for Mainers navigating invisible illness, rare disease, chronic illness, mental health needs, substance use recovery, grief, disability, caregiving, and related family support. It includes statewide organizations, local nonprofits, condition-specific groups, camps, transportation supports, and basic-needs resources. No list can truly include every organization in Maine, so this should be reviewed and expanded regularly as new resources are identified.
How to Use This Guide
For urgent danger or a medical emergency, call 911. For mental health crisis support, call or text 988. For help finding local services when you are unsure where to start, dial 211 or visit 211maine.org.
